CURRENT 2012 SCHEDULE: There is no salsa night on Thursday 23rd Feb, as we have moved it to Weds 22nd Feb. We are back to running on Thursdays as normal the following week. This change of date is necessary to accomodate a large event at the venue. The timing remains the same with a warm up at 8.05pm and classes commencing at 8.10pm
The weekly salsa night at the SQ Club is usually held on Thursdays. The venue is the upstairs function room at the Coventry SQ Club. There is no need to bring a partner as we rotate partners during the classes. Classes run from 8.05pm to 10.15pm Social Dancing to Latin DJ set from 10.15pm to 11.30pm Class Levels: 8.05pm to 9.05pm: 3 classes at levels 1, 2, 3 9.20pm to 10.15pm: 3 classes at levels 1, 2, 4 New starters are welcome every week. We occasionally move to another night to accomodate event bookings at the venue.

Thursday Night Salsa Classes at the Coventry SQ Club
The SQ Club salsa night is popular with both students and non-students and a range of age groups attend. We run 4 levels of classes and there are plenty of people to dance with in the after class DJ set. The venue has a great wooden dance floor, created specially by us specially for our weekly salsa night.
This weekly salsa night is run for fun rather than to make a profit and we only charge £3 for one class or £4 for both classes.
We welcome experienced dancers or new dancers to come along and enjoy the music. Admission is free for dancing and socialising after the classes. We play a mixture of classic salsa and vibrant modern Latin music with a twist of regaetton and bachata.
Please buy a drink at the bar to contribute to the venue's running costs and please don't bring your own drinks into the venue. Our classes are held in a venue with a licensed bar and not in a gym to create a social atmosphere.
The classes are held in the upstairs function room, the stairs and lift to the first floor are close to the front entrance.
We teach cross body style classes with some Cuban style salsa, Rueda de Casino, Bachata and Merengue thrown into the mix to provide a good coverage of the many salsa styles.
Please arrive on time for classes to enable us to keep to the schedule and ensure there is plenty of time for dancing after the classes.
The venue has its own car park for 20 cars. There is a massive pay & display car park 50m away at the top of Whitefriars street, and plenty of on street parking.
We hire the main upstairs function room for the whole night and most of the fee for the classes is spent on the room hire.
We follow the salsa classes with a salsa DJ set with a mix of modern and classic tracks to practice your moves.
The SQ Club Salsa night runs almost every week of the year. We take occasional breaks such as xmas or summer holidays, please check the news and updates page before travelling. If you are driving a long distance please call or email to double check we are running and that the night has the correct style of salsa and music for your requirements.
As the proud founder of both the Warwick University Salsa Society and the Coventry University Salsa Society, Paul B welcome's student dancers from both universities to come along to Latin Foundry and SalsaTonic events.
